Lenny Kravitz shares his pre-fame memories of fellow Global Impact honoree Mariah Carey

Lenny Kravitz, fellow honoree of the Global Impact award at tonight’s Grammys, was stopped on the Black Music Collective black carpet by Entertainment Tonight and he shared his memories of Mariah Carey before her big break. Kravitz shared of when they had first became friends, they were both working on their demos and would take turns playing each-other their cassette tapes. Mariah was working a coat check job at a sports bar that he would frequent with his friends. He also brought up her long time friend and past roommate Josephine, and their cat filled apartment that he had visited aswell. Mariah spoke about their friendship in her New York Times Bestselling memoir The Meaning Of Mariah Carey.
