Grammys: The Recording Academy presents Mariah Carey with Global Impact Award

Five time Grammy award winner Mariah Carey, just became a Six time Grammy award winner. The Recording Academy Black Music Collective proudly honors Mariah Carey as the recipient of the 2024 Global Impact Award Hero, alongside Lenny Kravitz. This is a CEO Merit Award that specifically recognizes black creators in music. Harvey Mason Jr., the academy’s CEO, described the recipients of the award as,”-Whose dedication to the art for has greatly influenced the industry and whose legacy of service inspires countless individuals worldwide, celebrating those who, through leadership and passion, empower embrace their authentic selves and contribute to positive change.”

The event will take place along with Grammy week on Thursday February 1st, at the third annual Recording Academy Honors. The ceremony will be at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. The event is also sponsored by Amazon music and City National Bank.
