Barbie Designer shares outtakes from Mariah Carey Barbie photo shoot

Senior Designer at Barbie, Angel Kent, shared to his Instagram account some outtakes from the Barbie X Mariah Carey doll promotional photo shoot. In this series of photos, Mariah’s doll is wearing a gold dress instead of the iconic red dress from the second All I Want For Christmas Is You music video. It’s confirmed that this was not intended to be a prototype idea but just another look for the photo shoots The dress is from an older Barbie Fashionista doll, but it would have been spectacular in a fashion pack or as a variant doll release.

Obviously as a lamb, this was a passion project for Angel. He shared how much this meant to him with a caption that reads,

“Angel dreams come true*† and this is a big one! Having the honor of touching this project still feels surreal. I want to thank Barbie management for their trust in me, and the wonderful team who brought this project to life: Barbie artists, Barbie marketing, PR, photographers... it's a village. And of course to thank Mariah for her trust and partnership, and collectors for making this a success! Merry Christmas dreamerz!”
